A number of years ago I climbed the ladder and grabbed hold of the mic in Satch Hoyt’s interactive installation, “Say It Loud!” when it was on view at the Mott-Warsh Gallery in Flint, Michigan. “Say It Loud!” is built of books about the Black Experience and has an audio component which samples James Brown’s class song of the same name.
Multimedia interdisciplinary artist Satch Hoyt was born in London, currently makes work in Berlin, and is of British and African-Jamaican heritage.
